This is a personal account of my battle with alcohol addiction and my journey to and through sobriety. It’s about the lessons I have learned along the way and the lessons I am still learning as the days turn into weeks, months and years and every day of continued sobriety is another day that I am truly grateful for. This is my story, not unlike a million other stories out there, but I hope that perhaps parts of it will be helpful and inspirational to a few others across the globe who are embroiled in the battle to regain control of their lives and put down the bottle for once and for all. Every day that I have now is a gift and a blessing and though I am still working through my recovery (after almost six and a half years) I believe that life is better with a clear head and an honest heart.
